Princess amelias bathhouse gunnersbury

Drop in to see Princess Amelia's Bathhouse and the Temple, two listed buildings not usually open to the public at Gunnersbury Park Museum.

Location: Gunnersbury Park and Museum, Popes Lane, W5 4NH

Visit these two listed buildings that are not normally open to the public. This is a drop in event between 11am and 4pm.

Princess Amelia's Bathhouse is named after the daughter of George II who lived at Gunnersbury for 25 years. During that time she spent vast sums of money improving the grounds, including building elegant garden buildings in the landscape, like this one, and the Temple at the Round Pond.

The Temple (Grade II*) was built around 1756, likely on the wishes of Princess Amelia. She had it built in the style of Greek and Roman temples, which were popular in garden design at the time.
Today, the interior of the Temple has been reimagined as a Victorian school room, and is used for booked educational activities with visiting school groups.
